Question Description
This paper is a three part critique of a published article looking at prevention of violence.
Each of the three parts described below should be no more than 2 pages single-spaced. The parts are as follows:
- Abstract:
After a full citation of the article chose, summarize the major points made in the article/presentation in your own words. Assume that the reader has never seen the article, but is familiar with the topic. Most research article include the following:
Research topic • Literature review • Design/methodology • Results • Discussion • Recommendations for future research
- Critique:
Criticize and/or praise specific points made in the article/presentation. Answer questions such as: what were the strengths and weaknesses of the content (research design, sampling, evaluation or statistical methods etc.) and the presentation of the content (clarity, detail, compensable etc. Feel free to include criticisms or compliments based ideas discussed in class and especially focus on gender and health implications.

- Implications:
Answer two primary questions, “What does the article mean to me?” The “me” in this case should refer to you in your future career practice (which health educator/promotor). Certainly, the meaning, or the worth of the article is related to your critique. A major implication may be that a particular article has either changed or reinforced your thinking on the subject at hand. the second question is “How has this article changed your views about this topic”?
